Hydration Isn’t Just Water
Have you ever looked around and realized how much everyone is drinking these days? Whether that’s in the form of energy drinks, sports hydrations, coffees, teas and even water. We’re being marketed beverages to an extent that’s never been met before.
Yet somehow, we’re more dehydrated than ever – especially during the summer. Come high noon, we’re dragging along in the summer heat like a melting snow cone. Our heads are pounding, our skin feels parched and our minds get foggy with crazy ideas like how much we might miss winter. The horror!
Something is clearly missing.
The problem isn’t a lack of beverage consumption, but rather critical minerals our bodies need to live healthy, functional lives in summer. When the summer’s sun casts its rays on us, we sweat. And when we sweat, we’re not just losing water. We’re losing all the valuable things that keep us functioning. Those important minerals and key electrolytes that seep out are the invisible orchestra that keeps us moving. Plain water can’t replace it and for those other drinks – don't even think about it.
Real, true hydration for your body requires knowledge of what you’re putting into it. It’s important to replenish trace minerals and electrolytes you may have sweated out and to do so with drinks that aren’t full of colorful dyes and sugar. And, if you add magnesium to that mix, you’re supporting your muscles and nervous system too!
You can go beyond that as well. Take Lemon and Sea Salt for example. While that sounds like something you’d get on vacation, there’s great benefit from it, too. The sea salt helps your body retain water, while the lemon adds functional needs and a flavor that’s more palatable. H2-Rich Water is also a great source of hydration as it taps into cellular heath with molecular hydrogen. And, if you’re looking to get into the summer spirit, try Watermelon or Cucumber Infused Water! It’s beneficial and a great taste that’ll have you say “ah”.
