Smart Fun in the Sun
Gone are the days of gray skies, frigid freezes and scraping ice off your car’s windshield. Good riddance. It’s summertime in Wisconsin and that means only one thing – get as much outdoors time as you can because, before you know it, those days will be back.
But until then, here are some smart tips that’ll keep summer’s sun kind to your skin!
1 – Hydrate Often
The best thing you can do for your body is to always keep hydrated. But, as we mention in our hydration blog, just because you drink water doesn’t mean you can’t become dehydrated. Be sure to go above and beyond water. Get those minerals your body craves on hot days while staying hydrated with dye and excess sugar free electrolyte drinks. Read up on more healthy hydration tips in our blog here.
2 – Wear Hats and Sun SPF Shirts
Hey, it’s baseball season after all! So why not sport your favorite Brewers, Dockhounds or Milkmen hats? Or, if you have that fancy sunhat you’ve always wanted to wear but never had the right outfit, now’s the time!
SPF shirts are also recommended while out enjoying the summer day. SPF shirts will not only keep you cool, but they’ll block harmful rays that would otherwise hurt or burn your skin. Not to mention, they’re quick drying so you can wear them in the water, too.
3 – Wear Mineral Clean Sunscreen
If we were to ask you to label the differences between regular sunscreen and mineral clean sunscreen, could you? If not – no fret! We go into the nitty gritty in our sunscreen blog here. But for those of you who want the short and sweet version, mineral clean sunscreen is the way to go. It works immediately on contact, is reef safe, is mineral based and fragrance free and offers non-nano zinc oxide so it won’t harmfully seep into your skin.
Now go out and enjoy the sunshine wherever you are!
